" Florian Bach’s work engages in political and social reflection on territory, borders, identity, exile, and exclusion. These concepts highlight realities that prompt us to question the contemporary city, whose growth contributes to the emergence of ever-increasing marginality. Florian Bach’s installations are always connected to their surrounding context; they refer to the improvised sleeping spots of the street and to homeless populations. For this exhibition, Florian Bach develops work primarily focused on themes of exclusion and marginality within urban space, creating various structures using reclaimed materials such as wood, plastic, and metal. He presents an installation titled “COLONIE,” (Colony) consisting of around twenty small huts made from reclaimed wood, erected on the roof of our building. Resembling shantytown dwellings, these huts are accessible from inside the exhibition room via high ladders leading up through the ceiling. This structure evokes a precarious, autonomous micro-urbanism situated at the heart of the city." Circuit press release.
